We will use the Controller-PC app which makes your phone a temporary controller to use when playing computer games. It would be good to take advantage of your old phone by converting it to a wireless control panel, as well as you can use your current phone to control games temporarily.
It's very easy, you'll need to download the console app from Google Play via the direct link at the bottom of the post, you'll also need to head to your computer and download the Controller PC Portable from the link at the bottom of the post.
What you will do now is access the software on the computer and adjust the connection key where the software will work in the background, and now make sure that your phone and computer are connected to the same network, as well as in case you do not have a Wi-Fi connection you can create a Wi-Fi hotspot from your smartphone and connect the computer to it.
You can connect your phone to the computer and use the app via USB, and then you will check the computer's IP address and manually type it on the connection screen.
Once the connection is successful you can access the game on the computer and experience using your phone as an effective controller.
